How to fix your posture
If so, and if you are looking for ways to not just relieve your pain, but to also get back to being able to stand up straight and more confidently, then it might be time to do something about your posture!
"My name is Dr. Kevin Mao...
...and together with my wife Thuy Lu, at our clinic, Balance and Body Restoration, treating chronic neck and shoulder pain is one of the most common problems that we see."
And throughout the years, we have found that the most common underlying source of neck and shoulder pain is quite simply due to poor posture.
And while I don't think this should be a huge shock or surprise to anyone…
Especially with the amount of time people spend staring down at their phones, or working in front of a computer screen all day long.
But the problem is, I find most people are simply unaware of just how much poor posture actually negatively affects their health.
Because not only does slumping, or slouching all the time look visually unappealing…
But it also creates a ton of harmful, physiological stress on the muscles of your neck and shoulders…
Not only that, poor posture can also even affect your ability to breathe properly, which will limit the level of oxygen flow throughout your body, which can also cause your muscles and joints to hurt even more.
And studies have also shown that poor posture can also even affect your mental health, and contribute to problems such as stress, anxiety, or even depression.
But the truth is, poor posture is something that can be EASILY fixed!
It’s just that most people either don’t know that poor posture is something that can actually change…
Or they might rely on outdated strategies that simply don’t work, such as:
However, what most people do not realize is that the secret to maintaining “good posture”...
However, what most people do not realize is that the secret to maintaining “good posture”...
Is that “good posture” is something that should be “automatic” such as breathing, to the point where you shouldn’t have to “think” about your posture all day long.
And the reason why you have poor posture is NOT because you are “forgetting” to stand up straight or to pull your shoulders back all day long…
But rather it is because there are certain “systems” within your body that are responsible to maintain your posture, automatically, in the background.
However, once one, or more of these systems “shut off”, or stop working, it is impossible to maintain proper posture without addressing some of these underlying issues.
the good news is, in our 5 video course, “How to Fix Your Posture”, we will share with you an in-depth breakdown of the 5 little known systems that are designed to help you maintain proper posture all day long.
And within these 5 modules we will also share with you detailed exercise programs that you can try on your own to address and fix some of these underlying problems as well.
And once you learn how to identify and fix these problems through a series of corrective exercise strategies, we know that it is possible to not only find long term relief from chronic neck and shoulder pain.
But to also help you potentially reverse “hunch-back” or hump-back posture.
So that you can stand taller, for way longer, and be WAY more upright.
But also in a way that it is automatic, and that you don’t even have to “think” about your posture all the time as well..

Now, with that said, enjoy the course modules below:
MODULE
1
Thoracic Mobility
In the first module we will teach you the importance of increasing the mobility of your “thoracic spine.” The thoracic spine serves as the foundation for your shoulders and upper back. But for most people this is the area of the body that can become very stiff and very immobile, especially with long periods of sitting or working in front of a computer.
Learning how to restore the mobility in this area if the first and most important step to finding a permanent solution for poor posture.
MODULE
2
Reactivate These Hidden Posture Muscles
Most people when they try to fix poor posture focus on trying to “strengthen” the muscles in the backs of their shoulders. But rarely does this ever actually fix the underlying problem.
Because the truth is, there are “thousands” of tiny, hidden little muscles along your spine that are actually responsible for maintaining the upright position of your spine. And in module 2, we will teach you how to ‘wake-up” and strengthen THESE muscles which will help you stand taller, and feel WAY more upright, with much LESS effort as well!
MODULE
3
Shoulder Imbalances
Shoulder imbalances are a huge contributor to poor posture, specifically “tightness” that develops in the front of the shoulder, followed by weakness that develops in the back of the shoulder.
In module 3, we will teach you how to ‘reverse” some of these common muscle imbalances which will not only help you fix your posture, but also help you take a TON of stress off of chronically tight neck and shoulder muscles as well.
MODULE
4
Diaphrmatic Breathing
Breathing is something that most people take for granted. But did you know that the average person takes over 20,000 breaths on any single day?
So why does this matter? Because poor posture can also negatively affect the way that you breath, and make it hard for your “diaphragm” muscle to perform its job, which is the muscle that is primarily responsible for proper breathing.
In module 4 we will share with you why poor posture causes problems to your breathing, but also how to fix and reverse some of these problems as well.
MODULE
5
Best Full-Body Exercises for Better Posture
In module 5 we will help you put everything together and share with you a few of our favorite “pound for pound” exercises that can help you address some of the most common problems that cause poor posture, but also teach you how to correct them “all at once.”
These are exercises that we personally do for ourselves, and some of the favorite exercises for many of our patients who are also trying to fix and reverse poor posture as well.
